Job Description:/h3:
As Manager of Sales Finance you will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), but will work closely with the entire operations, sales and marketing teams. This role has 4 primary responsibilities:
Trade spend management: Forecasting, monitoring, communicating and trouble shooting drivers of business performance.
Lead the coordination of trade strategies across customers and perform ad:hoc analysis.
Own Pricing Consistency and Process tracking and implementation across customers, channels and go:to:markets.
Volume and Trade Spend Reporting
Trade Spend Management
Annual Operating Plan: development of financial algorithm supporting sales and marketing strategies by key customer leading to detailed plan targets by customer, by pack and channel. Analyze key customer/channel performance as an input to annual operating plan.
Close: Review of booked trade and balance sheet position for accuracy and reasonableness; understanding and communication of key performance drivers
Forecast: Development of volume through net revenue forecast via multiple inputs (field forecast, Demand Planning forecast, marketing, etc.); generation of volume/rate/mix analysis and detailed drivers of change
Trade request management: Review of trade programming proposals, independent analysis, recommendation formulation with Sales Planning team members, communication to Field Finance and Field Sales
Performance monitoring: Understanding, monitoring and communicating key drivers of business performance and profitability (e.g. customer P and Ls, post:event analyses, etc.)
Trade Strategies: Providing program management and analytical support for ad hoc projects and reporting
Lead pricing analyses to determine opportunities for net revenue growth, recommend pricing actions (e.g. list/trade), and incorporate cross:channel implications
Lead the communication of share performance forecasting and reporting, including pulling and analyzing data, identifying key drivers, collaborating with Sales and Insights, and communicating results to senior management (e.g. share forecasts, dashboards, etc.)
Generate regular reports on Field performance (e.g. customer merchandise calendars) and customer/brand performance vs. expectations (vs. forecast/AOP/prior year)
Own Pricing Consistency and Process tracking and implementation across customers/channels
Develop and maintain customer/channel pricing decision archive to ensure consistency in pricing strategy.
Volume and Trade Spend Reporting
Maintain and update regular weekly and period sales and net revenue reporting by key account and by channel
Serve as primary contact for sales partners for adhoc information needs.
Projects and Other Responsibilities:
* Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Who We Are Looking For
* Bachelors degree in finance/accounting preferred
* 5+ years experience
* Proficient with Microsoft Office, (Excel Expert required)
* Sales Finance experience a plus
* Strong analytical skills with excellent oral and written communication
* Ability to work independently and with cross functional teams
* Intellectual curiosity and problem solving skills a must
* Strong at synthesizing data into recommendations and building consensus within teams
* Team player, but has the ability to act alone and lead a critical function in a young and rapidly growing company
* Experience in consumer products (CPG) environment is required.
Specialized or Technical Knowledge:
* Excellent Microsoft Office (Excel) and integrated ERP system experience required
