JOB DESCRIPTION: The student advising assistant provides varied and detailed assistance to the student advising manager, as well as other faculty and staff members, as needed. The selected candidate must:
• Be punctual and reliable with respect to attendance
• Maintain high levels of consistency, accuracy, and efficiency with data entry tasks
• Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines without compromising accuracy rates
• Communicate and interact with others professionally, effectively, and in a positive manner
• Maintain student and family confidence by keeping all information confidential

Duties and responsibilities include:
• Maintaining student records according to school policies and procedures
• Assisting with scheduling, semester advising, and preregistration activities
• Entering semester grades and credits into databases
• Tracking independent study PE applications and record logs, and The Center tutoring forms and requests
• Overseeing student-led independent study seminars and substitute teaching process
• Assisting with the Peer Advising Liaison service program
• Other tasks as assigned

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Three (3) or more years of data entry and customer service experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Standard office equipment such as a computer, scanner, and copier
• Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
• Keyboarding/typing
• Customer service and human relations skills
• Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary
• Apply initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines to problem solve
• Organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through on assignments with minimal direction

• Full-time: 40 hours per week
• Hourly wage: competitive and commensurate with qualifications
