Children’s cancer benefit: Wine, chocolate & magic

Plus: Cowboy music, holiday drinks, food drive and pizza with Santa

PROVIDED TO RN&R: A performance of "Magique," an award-winning magic show, is part of the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Benefit on Dec. 11, 2021, in Reno.

On Dec. 11, The Theatre and Debbie McCarthy of AboutTownDeb are presenting a wine and chocolate tasting, followed by a performance of the award-winning show “Magique,” to benefit the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation.

The tasting event begins at 6 p.m. and features Crystal Basin Cellars wine, AboutTownDeb red blend and chocolates from Dorinda’s Chocolates. Performance begins at 8 p.m. The Theatre is at 505 Keystone Ave. Tickets start at $65. Purchase/details.

Kids’ pizza making with Santa at Noble Pie Parlor

Beginning 10:30 a.m. Dec. 11 and Dec. 18, Noble Pie Parlor in the Summit center, 13979 S. Virginia St., is hosting Santa’s Pizza Workshops for children. Basic mixed-seating tickets start at $20 plus fees and cover one personal pizza, beverage for one adult and one child, and complimentary milk and cookies.

Other pricing tiers feature semi-private and private seating and larger parties. Beer, sparkling wine, mimosa, red wine, cocktail and gift bag specials from $2-36 also will be offered. Tickets/details.

A ‘Cowboy Country Christmas’ in historic Genoa

From 6 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 11, the town of Genoa is presenting its Cowboy County Christmas featuring food, fellowship, and musical performances by musicians Cowboy Steve and Buddy Emmer. The evening is at Genoa Town Hall, 2287 Main St. Tickets: $20 plus fees. Purchase/details.


‘Jingle Brews’ holiday drinks tour of Brewery District

From 2 to 6 p.m. Dec. 18, Tour de Brews of Black Rabbit Mead Co. presents its Jingle Brews tour of Reno’s Brewery District. The tour features beverage deals from 15+ District businesses. Purchase $10 tickets (plus fees) in advance. Pick up cups and passports day-of at Black Rabbit Mead, 401 E. Fourth St.

‘Holly Jolly Days’ food drive at Atlantis for Food Bank


Through Dec. 23, Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, 3800 S. Virginia St., is presenting its annual Holly Jolly Days food drive to benefit the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. Barrels across the property will collect non-perishable foods. Donate at least two items to receive discounts and special offers.
