To celebrate the show, Wild River Grille, 17. S. Virginia St. (cater-corner from the Pioneer), is presenting the next menu in its Broadway Comes to Reno series of prix fixe menus. The four-course ‘Fiddler’ menu features appetizer, soup or salad, main course (choice of roasted half-chicken, roasted halibut or filet medallions), and dessert. Cost: $54 plus tax and gratuity. Also, Pioneer Center is offering at its bars a ‘Matchmaker, Matchmaker’ cocktail, named after one of the show’s most famous songs, for $12. The drink mingles whiskey, simple syrup, lemon juice and a maraschino cherry.
Like, soo bitchin’: Wine Walk features ‘80s theme
The first Reno Wine Walk of the year runs 2 to 5 p.m. Jan. 15 at more than 20 participating merchants in the downtown Reno Riverwalk District. Folks are encouraged to dress in ‘80s garb as they visit participants for wine samples.

What a drag: Bibulous brunch for the birthday queen
Beginning 10:30 a.m. Jan. 22, Café Whitney in Whitney Peak Hotel, 255 N. Virginia St., is joining with Haus of Does Moore to present a boozy drag brunch for the birthday queen, Adonna Does Moore.
Tickets for single bar seats or by table range from $20-200 (plus fees and taxes). Cocktails, bottomless mimosas and brunch require separate purchase. The event includes drag performances. Purchase/details.
Silver Oak and Twomey Cellars dinner at Bistro Napa
Beginning 6 p.m. Jan 27, Bistro Napa in Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, 3800 S. Virginia St., is presenting a six-course dinner featuring pours from highly regarded Silver Oak Cellars and its sister winery, Twomey Cellars.
Pairing highlights include grilled Maine lobster cocktail with ’20 Twomey sauvignon blanc and bison prime rib with ’18 Silver Oak Ovid Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon. Cost of $225 includes tax and gratuity. Menu/reservations.
TMCC offers EPIC food and drink classes in February
In February, Truckee Meadows Community College is presenting food and drink classes through its Educational Programs Inspiring the Community (EPIC):
• Gourmet Holiday Chocolates runs 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 9 and features chocolate history, hands-on truffle making, recipes and ideas for Valentine’s Day gifts. Cost: $59 plus $15 materials fee. Register by Feb. 2;
• Autoimmune Diet for Health runs 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 17 and covers foods containing protective compounds, the benefits of eating change and how to choose the right anti-inflammatory diet. Cost: $49. Register by Feb. 10;
• Art of Chinese Stir-Fry runs 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 22 and covers kitchen tools, knife skills, marinating and hands-on preparation of stir-fries. Cost: $59 plus $20 materials fee. Register by Feb. 15; and
• Be Your Own Barista runs 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 26 and covers espresso shot extraction, milk spinning, specialty drinks and hands-on practicing various coffee making techniques. Cost: $59 plus $10 materials fee. Register by Feb. 19.
